The method that you use to start the DI Scoring Program depends on whether you performed a regular or green installation on the computer. For the definition of regular and green installations, see Installing on a Windows Computer.

To start the DI Scoring Program, use one of the following methods.

If you haven't already created a special green desktop shortcut on this computer for your green installation, do so now. For instructions, see Green Desktop Shortcut.
Use the green desktop shortcut every time that you start the DI Scoring Program. The shortcut starts the program as usual, but it also places your Preferences file in the green location instead of the default %USERPROFILE% location.

If you have installed the DI Scoring Program on removable media, and you are using the media on different computers, create a green desktop shortcut on every computer that you use and use the green desktop shortcut every time you start the program. The shortcut ensures that the Preferences file is installed in the correct location and is available on every computer that you use. |
To start the DI Scoring Program.
The shortcut starts the program and creates the Preferences file (DIPrefs.xml) in the green location.
After a few seconds, the DI Scoring Program display appears and the program spends a moment or two loading data from the Sample Tournament provided with the program. When the data are loaded, the program opens, displaying the main or Tournament Summary window.
Each time you start the DI Scoring Program, the program begins by loading the data from the tournament it was displaying when it was closed and displaying that tournament's Tournament Summary window.
