The Basics: Start, Quit, Open, and Close

This topic explains how to start and quit the DI Scoring Program and how to open and close tournaments.

Start

To start the DI Scoring Program, double-click the DI Scoring Program desktop shortcut (if you have one) or select the DI Scoring Program item from the Start menu or a Programs menu (Start, Programs).

For most installations, start by using the following method:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Point to Programs.
  3. Point to Destination Imagination Scoring Program
  4. Click DI Scoring Program.

If you cannot find a shortcut or menu item to start the program, see the more detailed topic, Start the Scoring Program.

Quit

To quit or exit the DI Scoring Program, return to the Tournament Summary Window and, from the File menu, select Exit.

Or, click the Exit Program button in the Tournament Summary Window toolbar.

Open

The DI Scoring Program must always have one, and only one, tournament open at a time. When you start the DI Scoring Program, if you see the Already Running message, head for this Troubleshooting tip.

When you start the DI Scoring Program, it loads the tournament that was open the last time the program was closed. The first time you start the DI Scoring Program, it loads the Sample Tournament.

To open a different tournament:

Or, click the Open button in the tournament window toolbar, and then select the tournament directory.

When you do, the DI Scoring Program saves and closes the previous tournament, and opens the new one.

Close

The DI Scoring Program must always have one, and only one, tournament open at a time.

Therefore, you really cannot close a tournament. When you are finished with your work, just quit the program. All of your data is automatically saved.

Also, because you cannot open more than one tournament at a time, whenever you open a tournament, the DI Scoring Program automatically saves and closes the previous tournament.
