To those of us in Destination Imagination, a tournament is a day of excitement, delight, and inspiration. But to the DI Scoring Program, a tournament is merely a folder or directory that contains a specified set of files.
In the following tasks, you will use the Tournament Wizard to create a tournament directory, customize the DI Scoring Program for your tournament, and add your team data to the tournament directory.
The tournament Wizard can also be used to set up the Tournament definition without teams. Teams can be added to the tournament later using either the Tournament Wizard or Add New Teams functions.
The tournament definition records specific information about the tournament and its rules. The definition is stored in the tournament directory and must be the same on all computers in the tournament.
Caution |
---|
The tournament definition implements policy set by your Tournament Director, and must be the same on all computers in the tournament. Consult your Tournament Director or Score Master before changing any aspect of the tournament definition. |
Notes |
---|
You do not need to separately create a tournament definition on every computer you will use in your tournament. Create the tournament definition just once, and then copy the tournament directory to the other computers in the tournament. This method assures that all computers in your tournament have the same definition. See Set Up Additional Computers. |
Some of the tasks involved in creating a tournament definition require serious consideration and planning. Before you begin, read the topics in the Planning Worksheet carefully and be prepared to implement some of your decisions. |
To open the Tournament Wizard, in the Tournament Summary Window, from the File menu, select Tournament Wizard, or press Ctrl+Z. For instructions, see Tournament Wizard.
