Comment on an Issue

You can add comments to the Issue Record of any unresolved issue. (You cannot add comments about a resolved issue.) The comments become part of the permanent Issue Record, but they do not raise or resolve the issue.

Comments can be very valuable. You can use them to update information about an issue, record attempts at understanding or resolving the issue, and show that the procedure prescribed by Destination Imagination for resolving the issue is being followed.

To resolve an issue:

  1. In the challenge level window, click anywhere in the team's row to select it. Then, from the Edit menu, select Modify Team. Or you can click the Modify Team icon or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M.
Or, in the team's Team Challenge or Instant Challenge score sheet, from the File menu, select Modify Team, or click the Modify Team button in the toolbar.
  2. If you're in the All Teams Window, click anywhere in the team's row to select it. Then, from the Scoring menu, select Modify Team. Or you can click the Modify icon or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+M.

  3. In the Comment text box, type the comment, and then click the Modify button to save the change, Revert to delete your description and keep the Team Editor open, or Close to close the Editor without saving your change.
    Notes
You can type in the Comment box only when the team has an outstanding issue. Otherwise, the Comment box is dimmed.
The DI Scoring Program doesn't create an entry header for comments. Be sure to include your name and the date and time in your comment.

When you open the Team Editor dialog box again, you'll notice that the comment you typed was moved from the Comment box to the Issue Record box. It now becomes part of the permanent issue record.
