This method minimizes manual calculation and its resulting errors. Fewer people are required (no need to verify calculations). Only two computers are required but more can be used for larger tournaments.
The scoring room team performs more data entry. Scoring errors that the DI Scoring Program detects (including those that might have been caught on site) must be sent back to the challenge site to be resolved. The challenge site team might have less confidence in the scores and the scoring process.
Tip!
You can modify this method by having an appraisal team organizer or number cruncher review the scores at
the challenge site. The number cruncher would not sum or average the
scores, but would verify that scores were valid and within range.
