Changes for 2025
New Web-based Scoring Program (WSP)
A new, web-based scoring program is now available as an alternative to the classic scoring program. This new version may be accessed in the DI Resource Area via the Tournament Dashboard by clicking on the “Web Scoring Program” button. In addition to most of the features of the Classic Scoring Program, this version also includes:
- Score, deduction, and team status changes are reflected in real-time when submitted via the Mobile Client or DI Resource Area.
- The tournament status may be viewed by either Challenge/Level (similar to the Classic Scoring Program) or by Room
- Preliminary Team rankings may be viewed even if scores aren’t complete for a challenge/level
- No installation required
The Web Scoring Program does not support the following:
- Editing scores - scores should be edited in the DI Resource Area instead. The web scoring program will automatically receive these changes in real-time
- Printing team manager scores (we recommend emailing these from the DI Resource Area instead)
- Non-standard challenges (e.g. the Texas Extreme challenges)
Classic Scoring Program (CSP)
With the addition of the new web-based scoring program, the traditional scoring program is now being referred to as the “Classic Scoring Program” or "CSP" to help distinguish between them. There are currently no plans to discontinue the Classic Scoring Program - both are planned to be supported for the foreseeable future.
- The Tournament Wizard in the Classic Scoring Program now provides a new option labeled 'Create a new tournament from DIHQ'. This is a shortcut to quickly create a tournament from tournament information stored in the Destination Imagination Resource Area. This option pulls in the Tournament name, date, advancement, teams, appraisers, appraiser assignments, etc. without requiring any other interaction. To further customize the tournament (Challenge Colors, Tournament HTML Results settings, etc.) re-run the Tournament Wizard with the 'Modify current tournament' option. The previous tournament creation functionality has been renamed to 'Create a new tournament manually'.
- Team status changes (e.g. team dropped) are now updated automatically when “Import Scores” is run.
Mobile Client
- Unlocking/locking team scores for an appraiser in the Resource Area will now be reflected in real time in the Mobile Client. Previously, a page reload in the Mobile Client was required to see these changes.
- Adding, deleting, or modifying a deduction via the Resource Area or by another appraiser using the Mobile Client will now be reflected in real time in the Mobile Client. Previously, a page reload in the Mobile Client was required to see these changes.
- The Mobile Client now supports additional languages for viewing score items and documents. The following languages are currently supported: English, Spanish, Turkish, and Polish.
Resource Area
- Regional tournament advancement rules can now be set in the DI Resource Area. Advancement rules are automatically set in the DI Resource Area for all Affiliate tournaments. This allows advancement rules to be used for final scores within the Web Scoring Program and allows importing into the Classic Scoring Program when using the new “Create new tournament from DIHQ” option.
