Send Score Files

In tournaments in which scores are entered into the DI Scoring Program at different sites, the computer score files must eventually be delivered to the scoring room. That time has arrived.

Note
This task is necessary only when scores are being entered into the DI Scoring Program outside of the scoring room.
You can send score files to the score room at any time. Score files need not be complete before they are merged (see Merge Scores).

There are several different ways to send scores. Typically, the score room circulates instructions to the challenge site explaining how and when to send scores. If you do not have instructions, ask your Score Master which method they prefer. And, be sure to back up the tournament directory before you use any method.

To send scores, use one of the following methods:

To copy a challenge level file:

  1. Using a system browser, such as Windows Explorer, locate the tournament directory for your tournament.
    Tip!
To find the path to your tournament directory, click the Tournament Information button on the toolbar in the Tournament Summary Window.
  2. Double-click the tournament directory to open it.
  3. Identify the XML file for your challenge level. The XML files are named for the challenge and grade level, such as DIzzy_S.xml.
  4. Copy the XML file to the removable media or network share.

Be sure to following any instructions sent by the score room for naming files and folders.

Before sending any removable media, be sure to label it. Use the label or labeling instructions published by the score room. If you haven't received instructions, then write the name of your challenge level, the names of files on the disk, and your name and mobile phone number on the disk label.
